Highway death mystery…By Latoya GilesA second post mortem examination on the remains of Linden taxi driver, Damian Lindore, 23, has failed to clear up the mystery surrounding his death, while adding to suspicion that he was murdered.Kaieteur News understands that Trinidadian Pathologist, Professor Hubert Daisely,said that while he found injuries that were consistent with those from an accident, he also observed others which indicated that Lindore was struck with a heavy object.Professor Hubert Daisley According to a source, the pathologist observed an injury on Lindore’s right hand, which he concluded was sustained while the victim was warding off the blows.Lindore also had a wound on his forehead, which, according to the pathologist, could not have occurred during an accident.“He received a lash to his hand…..and then he probably received another blow to the head….which might have rendered him unconscious,” the source explained.Kaieteur News had received reports that investigators had found a piece of iron a short distance away from where Lindore’s body was found.During the autopsy, Dr. Daiselyreportedly suggested that after the blows rendered Lindore unconscious, he could have been placed in another vehicle and thrown from it.“He could have been placed into an open-back vehicle and then thrown from the speeding vehicle onto the road,” said that source.Dr. Daisely also reportedly said that Lindore could not have sustained some of his injuries if he was indeed driving the vehicle.According to the source,Jerseys From China, the pathologist found bruising on Lindore’s legs which are consistent to those sustained when a body is being dragged.He also reportedly expressed suspicion that there was no glass in any of Lindore’s injuries.“In an accident, whether it is small or big….there has to be glass, and especially with this accident, glass should have been present in Lindore’s injuries.”Professor Daisley, according to the source, also revisited the accident scene and also examined the wrecked vehicle.Dead Damian Lindore A full report of the doctor’s findings would be handed over to the police and to relatives.In the first autopsy, local pathologist, Dr. V. Brijmohan, had concluded that Lindore died from multiple injuries due to an accident.Kaieteur News was told that the pathologist found multiple injuries which he concluded showed that he perished in an accident.According to the official, the pathologist found “grazing abrasions” on the victim’s upper body, and on his back and legs.Lindore also had a fractured skull and a fractured breast-bone. His vehicle was also stripped of its valuables.Responding to relatives’ suspicions, police rearrested alleged accident victim, Kemal McCalmont, his brother, and a police officer.Adding to the mystery,Fabian Johnson Jersey, an alleged eyewitness, Colin Marvin, told police that Lindore was beaten by several persons, and that these persons later staged the accident.But then Marvin contacted Kaieteur News and alleged that he was forced to sign a third statement saying that Lindore had died in an accident.On Wednesday last, Director of Public Prosecutions Shalimar Ali Hack recommended that no charges be instituted against the three suspects.The DPP however ordered that an inquest be conducted in the matter. |
