An internal investigation into the reports that surfaced over the weekend uncovered no evidence of discounts to be had to disaster survivors, said Buck Banks, Costa's North American representative.

All costs related to travel to the port of embarkation and the return home, including shift arrangements made independently of your cruise line, will be reimbursed, as will medical expenses, money deposits and any expenses borne on board.
Costa said it will upgrade passengers on the return of private belongings and try to return possessions stored in cabin safes.
The company is following up on the physical and emotional well being of affected people, the statement said, as well as talking with tourism trade organizations Nike Heels and consumer protection groups to determine indemnity for passengers to the hardship endured.
