"Taking people with degree qualifications along with training them on the job is totally something schools should be undertaking," he said. "But it has to be completed proportionately to levels of qualified educators.
"You can't fill a school together with completely unqualified and novices.
"One of our key aims is always that we grow our own employees. We are taking people with top rated degrees and turning these folks into qualified teachers. They spend 80 per cent time working and 20 per-cent of their time at university.
"Ofsted have been delighted that we train all of our staff and asked us to do a special report on how you will work so they can share this with other schools. From my personal experience there is a dire shortage of qualified teachers in Great britain and it is a real issue."
