‘Yekuana’, was trailing the seismic vessel, the MV Teknik Perdana which is under contract with Anadarko.“As is known, Anadarko has a petroleum prospecting licence to search for hydrocarbons in the Roraima block offshore Guyana,” the Ministry said,Anadarko Petroleum Corp. the third-largest independent U.S. oil and natural gas producer yesterday said it is working for the release of its research vessel and its crew.The MV Teknik Perdana “was under contract to our company and conducting a seafloor survey on behalf the Government of Guyana,” John Christiansen, a spokesman for the Woodlands, the Venezuelan naval vessel… Indeed so is the Roraima concession block. “The Foreign Affairs Ministry asserted that Government is committed to working with the Venezuelan Government to find a diplomatic solution to this problem which has arisen.Opposition Leader, David Granger, yesterday told media operatives that “APNU condemns the Venezuelan actions and expresses its unqualified support for a strong response by the Government of Guyana to safeguard this country’s territorial integrity.”According to Granger, “APNU believes that the actions of the Navy of Venezuela constitute a threat to international peace… It calls on the Government of Venezuela to fulfill its obligations under Article 33 – for the “Pacific Settlement of Disputes” – of the Charter of the United Nations and to desist from resorting to armed force in its relations with the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.”Granger, who is a former Brigadier in the Guyana Defence Force,NFL Jerseys Wholesale, told media operatives that he believes that Thursday’s invasion of Guyana’s territory has to be linked to the most recent visit by Venezuela’s President to Guyana and the incursion that occurred on the very day which are definitely bent on reviving Venezuela’s claim on Essequibo.”Granger said that he was not aware that the action by the Venezuelan Navy was sanctioned by President Maduro and that it was not consistent with his declaration in Georgetown.
