The East Canje Lions Club as part of its continued Community outreach drive recently carried out a number of initiatives to the benefit of several persons in the East Canje, Berbice area.A resident with her hamper proudly sits in her wheel chair. The club during the year undertook a number of community projects throughout the Canje area. They also presented a number of wheelchairs to persons with various disabilities in the East Canje and New Amsterdam areas.Among some of the major projects undertaken was the construction of the Adelphi Market while several bus sheds were also built in the East Canje area.Pedestrian crossings were also painted at the entrances of the various schools.
