First Friday at Artists' Lacoste Online Gallery
Jody Primoff will be the featured artist for First Friday, March 4, at the Artists' Gallery, 239 High Street, Chestertown.
The show will hang through March. After her graduation from Syracuse University, she moved to New York City; there she studied at the Art Students' League Pandora Shop Nz with Reginald Marsh.
After marrying, she raised three children, then taught special education, continued to paint and exhibit, and illustrated two books.
Retired from teaching, she and her husband now make the Eastern Shore their home base, though summers are spent in the Catskill Ralph Lauren Polo Shirts Mountains where they Tiffany & Co Sydney formerly lived.
Primoff has chosen Tiffany Jewelry landscape to be her primary subject. Moving Cheap Timberland Shoes back and forth among mediums and materials, she travels from realism to semi abstraction using watercolor, acrylic, pen and ink, pastel and collage. Combinations of these different mediums enable her to create her mixed media pieces. A recent technique Ray Ban Wayfarer Square Nz is the use of photographs which are scanned and incorporated into collaged paintings.
She belongs to the Working Artists Forum and the Chestertown Arts League. Her work has been shown in one person and group shows and is in private collections throughout the country.
Among awards she has received are the Juror's Choice Award at the Chestertown Arts League's Juried Show in 2007, the Peggy Blades Award at the Chestertown Arts League's Members' Show Nike Free 3.0 New Zealand in 2007 and the Marion Price Award at the Adkins Aboretum Art Competition in 2009.
