The country is also committed to working closely with Chinese in the commercial sector.President David Granger delivering his address at the Association of Chinese Business Enterprises in Guyana’s annual dinner and magazine launch.President Granger addressed a dinner and magazine launch organised by the Association of Chinese Enterprises in Guyana (ACEG) at the Marriott Hotel, Kingston on Friday night. He said that there is much more to economic growth than buying or selling with specific reference to production.He added that his government welcomes investors, not only in trading, but also agro-processing, energy generation, information technology, telecommunication, engineering, fishing, housing,Florida Panthers Gear, mining, manufacturing and tourism all of which can be of benefit from a country with a larger economy.Guyana’s economic policy is predicated by the necessity for economic freedom, he said, and that Government pursues a market-based economy through policies that promote investment in the productive and the commercial sectors.Economic freedom presupposes the rights of businesses to earn profit, and the right to foreign investors to repatriate those profits. China will continue its support to Guyana’s development and make joint efforts with the government and people of Guyana to elevate the friendly relations of cooperation between two sides to a new high.The Chinese New Year spring festival observance is one week away and the Ambassador wished the Association greater achievements.The ACEG is a non-profit organisation established in 2014 with a membership of 14 Chinese companies in Guyana.Its main role is to assist Chinese investors and ensure that they operate within the confines of the Laws of Guyana and other regulations governing how business is done locally. The Association has been very involved in charitable work nationwide; conducting outreaches to schools and assisting orphanages and homes for the elderly.On Friday evening it further made donations to the Shaheed Children’s Orphanage and the Palms Geriatric Home.Chairman of the ACEG,Adidas Shoes On Sale Cheap, Andrew Jin, explained that since the establishment of the Association, the business magazine has been an annual publication divided into two categories. The first provides information on Chinese businesses in Guyana and caters specifically to Guyanese readers and the second provides information on how to conduct business in Guyana.
