| Local computer and office supplies giants, Metro Computer and Office Supplies, in collaboration with its United States counterpart, Metropolitan Office and Computer Supplies, recently extended a hand of support and friendship to one of Guyana’s leading Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) Charity and Social Service Organization the St. Francis Community Developers (SFCD) and its collaborating partners.President and Founder of the St Francis Community Developers Alex Foster receives the Multimillion dollar package from Ms Avia Lindie. United States Ambassador to Guyana Mr. D Brent Hardt, also savours the moment.The business conglomerate through its founder and owner Mr. Ron Ramnarayan recently donated over $4M in equipment to the social services provider which will help in its continued social services and developmental programmes and to improve service to its beneficiaries.Included in the package was one CANON color photo copier machine along with one set of toners. The copier is complete with finisher and sorter.According to Ms. Avia Lindie, Berbice Branch Manager who did the honours on behalf of Metro, the gesture resulted from a promise by the owner to support the disadvantaged and as part of Metro’s Corporate responsibilities.Metro, which has its genesis in the United States of America, has been in Guyana for over 15 years.According to Branch Manager Ms. Lindie,Cheap NFL Jerseys China Wholesale, they want to offer a complete package hence the hefty donation.The donation was made at the St. Francis Community Development’s newly constructed state-of-the-art two-storey multipurpose concrete training centre and Conference Hall at Portuguese Quarters, Corentyne.Giving a background to the venture and the partnership between the two organizations was President and founder of the SFCD Alex Foster.The overall purpose of the SFCD is to offer life skills for the at risk population, develop training materials utilizing responsive interventions, offer skills training in non-traditional fields to make residents job ready for personal empowerment, support the suitability and capacity building of service providers in Guyana.Foster stated that the overall objective of this complex was sold to Mr. Ron Ramnarayan owner of Metro and Metropolitan Office and Computer Supplies, Inc when he visited St. Francis and again in his New York Office by Foster when he visited New York.Mr. Ramnarayan bought into the idea immediately with the Metro conglomerate making an initial donation to the club two years ago, of 15 flat screen computers which are being used for training and internet access.With the new addition the SFCD would now be able to offer a complete range of services to the community, such as badge printing, photocopying, laminating, binding, color copying, printing, internet café, development of educational/promotional materials- in short the Training Centre is fully functional to create a one-stop experience for all training needs.Mr. Foster also thanked the owner, Mr. Ron Ramnarayan, and family for their confidence in the SFCD to act as a conduit to serve persons in difficult circumstances. |
