| Police have confirmed that Former First Lady, Varshnie Singh, was attacked and robbed by three men armed with knives yesterday on D’Urban Street, Wortmanville.The incident occurred around 11:00 hours outside a property where construction work is taking place.Two other persons who were with Miss Singh were also robbed by the men.According to a police source, the group was standing on the road near the construction site when three men, armed with cutlasses and knives, attacked Miss Singh and two construction workers.The former First Lady was robbed of a shoulder bag, bank card, keys, one silver ring and $50,000.The bandits also snatched $18,000 from the contractor and a silver band and cellular phone from a carpenter.The men made good their escape before the police, who were subsequently informed, arrived. |
