| Police arrested four men and recovered an M 15 assault rifle and an air pistol in an operation that has enhanced their image in terms of their response to armed robbery.About 22:00 hours on Monday, owner of the Bollywood Night Club at Lamaha Street, Newtown, Irene Gooding, 62,Cheap Authentic Jerseys, and four of her employees were held up at the night club by six men, all armed with firearms. They were pursued by the police who arrested four of them.A statement from police headquarters, Eve Leary, said that the ranks also found a motor car bearing registration number HB 8692 parked in the vicinity of the Night Club with the engine running, which was suspected to have been used by the armed men.Subsequent investigations revealed that the motor car’s correct registration number was PJJ 1072 and that it had been stolen earlier in the night from taxi driver Kevin Higgins, 29, of George Street, Georgetown.According to the police, Higgins was hired by three men at Norton Street to be taken to Sophia, where he was held up by one of the men who was armed with an ice-pick. The men then took away his jewllery, cell phone and the car, and escaped.The car was subsequently searched and one .32 round was found inside.The police did not stop there, they combed the immediate surroundings to the Bollywood Night Club, where the perpetrators had run, and their perseverance paid off when they found the M15 rifle with two magazines and 38 rounds of 5.56 calibre ammunition, an air pistol, a camouflage cap and two cell phones.The two cell phones have been identified by two of the victims as their properties that were stolen during the robbery.The four men are said to be cooperating with investigators. |
