| A duo was yesterday sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, each, after they were found with 12.5 grams of cocaine in their possession on March 11, last, at Cross Street, Georgetown. They were charged with having the drug for the purpose of trafficking.Marcie Andrews, 27, of La Jalousie, West Coast Demerara and Richard Prescod, 27, of East Ruimveldt, were both charged last March, and made several appearances at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts over the last few months.Yesterday, the two appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Fabayo Azore charged with trafficking cocaine.Police Prosecutor Simone Payne told the court that on the day in question; the police were on patrol in the area when they observed Prescod throwing a bag into a yard.
