Both vehicles sustained considerable damage.Reports from people travelling in the minibus stated that the minibus was almost full, and many of the passengers sustained minor injuries and had to be taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) by public spirited citizens.One of the passengers in the minibus, Purshuton Bramnarine, suffered a broken right arm.The driver of the minibus, Owen Mercurius, said that as the car unexpectedly turned in front of his vehicle, he immediately geared down and applied the brake, but could not avoid the accident.“He (the driver of the car) jumped the light and came in front of me,” said Mercurius.However, people inside of the minibus have said that the minibus driver was the one who jumped the light.Both drivers have given statements to the police. |
