She checked them in, and they were then scanned by CANU officers on duty. Through the scanner, according to the prosecutor, the ranks noticed something unusual in the bag. This, he said prompted a search of the bag in the presence of the woman. The court was made to understand that on doing so, three pairs of ladies’ shoes were found. Massiah told the court that the woman attempted to describe persons whom she may have dealt with during the period of her stay in Guyana, but the evidence fell short of relevant information and therefore no other persons were held.
