| President Bharrat Jagdeo winged out of Suriname to Russia Saturday after attending the special youth summit of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).He told the Guyanese media in Suriname that he will meet Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and he will also participate later in the week in the 50th anniversary celebrations of the People’s Friendship University from which he graduated with a Masters Degree in Economics in 1990.Jagdeo is hailed as one of the most famous graduates of the university which was founded on February 5,Adam Shaheen Jersey, 1960 by the Russian Government in response to the requests of former colonial countries.The stated purpose of establishing this university was to give young people from Asia,Dale Hawerchuk Jersey, Africa and Latin America, especially from poor families, an opportunity to be educated and to become highly qualified specialists.The main event of the celebrations will be held on February 6,Deion Sanders Falcons Jersey UK, 2010 at the Kremlin in Moscow. A guide of the most successful graduates of the university will also be published.Along with Jagdeo,Alexis Sanchez Chile Jersey, two other Guyanese, Dr. Frank Anthony, Minister of Culture,Jose Calderon Jersey, Youth and Sport; and Dr. Bheri Ramsaran, Minister within the Ministry of Health,Nike NBA Shop, will be featured in the guide.Dr Anthony and Dr Ramsaran are also expected to travel to Russia to be part of the celebrations. |
