Definitely not. I can't say for sure , and without knowing the exact model of you mobo (numerous LGA775 types from different generations in existence) but it'd depend totally on what FSB it supports (800/1066/1333Mhz) plus it could be that you're only a BIOS up-date away from being able to use newer C2D processors.
EDIT: Just checked out your motherboard while scripting this post, and according to this Oakley Sunglasses Factory Outlet Melbourne article you only have to update the actual BIOS to be able to use all the modern Core 2 Duo's and Quad's. Sweet!
Probably want to consider changing the particular PSU as well if it's 3 4 years already. Other than that, I think that you are good to go. Wouldn't worry too much about the GPU, as a 1GB greeting card should be enough if you're game playing Jordans Retro 6 in 1920x1200 and below. Plus GTX 460 packs quite a lot of value even by today's video gaming standard (which haven't actually changed since 5 years back).   Erich SchaeferMods: Torchlight  Diablo Font  Foggy Town
You could also on the internet something like an intel 2100/motherboard, you can be getting +50% single core efficiency than any reasonably priced quad main 775 socket you will find, a lot of activities dont even take advantage of 4 cores. You should examine if you have Abercrombie And Fitch Australian Stockists a microcenter around you at the same time assuming you live in the states, the 2500k is a great processor if you can understand cheap enough.
heres a website that can help you compare processors, note lower is better:Take the following benchmark, determine the number of cores the actual cpu is, and then decide how many cores the application is able to implement to determine approximation of its power. That's why AMD generally sucks for online games and why fx model are crap, but more modern games will hopefully make use of more cores.
Well. something like a C2D E8400 would be more than enough I reckon, if we're talking about improvement and if you can get a hold on 1. Yeah there's probably applications a quad core, unless you will be playing horrible console locations like GTA IV that allegedly needs a quad core for 'optimal performance' lol. Can save a few bucks over budget too.
Though if you can get the newer i3/i5 Ray Ban Glasses Australia Online + DDR3 RAM + mobo at under $200, then go for it. James' suggestion looks worthwhile. (I hate how they're even now using Pentium name. kinda complicated).
