| The CARICOM Secretariat,Wholesale Jerseys USA, with the support of the European Union, will convene two consultations from today through Friday which will focus on developing a structure to support the growth of the Community’s agribusiness-sector, and reviewing a draft Community Agricultural Policy.A consultation on a Strategic Framework of the Regional Agribusiness Sector will be conducted from today, while a review of the Draft Caribbean Community Agricultural Policy will be held from November 11. Both meetings will take place at the Grand Coastal Inn, Le Ressouvenir, Guyana.According to the CARICOM Secretariat, the agribusiness sector forum is aimed at developing an action plan to promote the growth of the sector and for the development of Targeted Commodity Enterprises in CARICOM. Representatives of CARICOM Member States, members of a steering committee, representatives of the CARICOM Secretariat and the private sector were involved in a process towards the development of a framework of a vibrant and viable agribusiness sector in the Region.Participants at the consultation will critically and constructively examine a draft report on the Strategic Framework of the Regional Agribusiness Sector, towards its refining and finalisation.The process towards the finalisation of the Framework is expected to deepen dialogue among national and regional policy-makers, and enhance public/private sector stakeholder partnership to boost the sector.Further, it is anticipated that the project will increase awareness of the opportunities within domestic and regional markets, particularly for targeted communities among producers, agro-processors, exporters and other service providers in the sector along the value chain.The Caribbean Community Agricultural Policy (CAP) is part of a broader Strategic Plan for Regional Development that pursues a single development vision for CARICOM Member States.
