| The Indian Arrival Committee has announced the names of those who will receive its 2010 awards. They are: Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Leila Ramson, and Badrudin Hassan.The IAC said that it is honouring Chanderpaul for his outstanding contribution in the field of Sports (Cricket) for both Guyana and the West Indies.“Chanderpaul has the highest aggregate of Test runs for any Guyanese who would have played at the game’s highest level. He has the second highest aggregate for the West Indies. His achievements have inspired many in Guyana,Stitched Jerseys, throughout the West Indies and other parts of the cricketing world,” said the IAC.The IAC is honouring Leila Ramson for her outstanding contribution in the field of Education, especially, teaching. She is currently the Head of the Teaching Service Commission (TSC) and has made invaluable contributions to its development, the IAC stated.The Committee chose to also honour Badrudin Hassan, for his outstanding contribution in the field of Religion.
